The battle may have commenced
we enter into the affray
scabbards open blades we bare
armour at the ready
guns and cannons blaze everywhere
do or die is the order
as people mount the stallions
and charge away
cordite meets the air we breath
as men are slain and soldiers fall
cannons pounding with a mighty roar
untill the bugle sounds the beat
as silence reigns and we retreat
humble and tired on our weary feet
battle over for another day
men so gallant and so brave
gave with honour their lives this day
others have fallen lives passed away
for a moment of glory
their part in history
a memory
Very nicely done Kevin! I especially like the last stanza. hugs, Terri
