The shock of marriage which came your way   4 comments

You set a seed so deep within me

which has grown and blossomed into fine bloom

of something special from deep within you

a magical moment which has taken place

when our eyes first met  and love fell into place

the spell you cast spread over me

your smile lit up my face  for all to see

one winters day did our love grow

so fond of you my did my heart glow

like hot embers in a fire

I saw in you the same desire

the warm you sent out melted the ice in me

which formed my love with your beauty

of which I watched and waited so patiently

to make sure you were the lady for me

then one fine evening a few days ago

I planted a seed of a surprise

which started to grow

and on that day I gazed and purchased a ring

as you made my heart jump a beat and sing

we sat by that day idly

I tested you with little hints

you never thought

I had bought your wedding ring

and when we went out that day

I sprung my romantic surprise which I hid

inside my face

the late night christmas shop

was all part of it to secretly get you

into place

to pull off my little surprise

of your valentines gift

I will never forget the look on  shop keepers face

as he suddenly realised in his jewelers

a marriage proposal had just taken place

right under his nose staring him in the face

when I said see that ring there

valentines is coming

and that ring is for you

it took a few moments then

then the look on your face

said a lot as shock of

which had just taken place

you realised it was a wedding ring

and what I had secretly done

was a big surprise for you

your reaction was amazing

I thought as the words which you then said

all these months you were teasing me

every time I asked you and you said

no-no never again

but really I was slowly warming to you

with out you seeing it I kept it secretly

hidden away so you couldn’t see

until the moment I felt was right

to ask you to marry me

that december night

you and I were made to be

in love and to live in harmony

like the heavens above

and the oceans below

our hearts beat in unison

as our love grows
